This project involved a major side and rear extension, effectively doubling the size of the original extension, alongside a full internal renovation of the property. From structural groundwork and drainage challenges to high-end finishes, this was a full-scale transformation delivered from start to finish by Ella Rose Building Services.Despite persistent heavy rainfall throughout the build, the project was successfully completed to a high standard, with the homeowners extremely pleased with the final result — so much so that they invited us back for additional works.
The challenge
One of the most complex aspects of this project was the groundworks. To achieve the requested 3-metre ceiling height, we needed to excavate deeper than standard levels, carefully managing the structural integrity of the build while working within tight site constraints.The project was also significantly impacted by persistent heavy rainfall throughout the build phase. This created ongoing challenges with excavation stability and water management.To overcome this, we implemented continuous drainage control measures and pumping solutions to prevent flooding and maintain safe working conditions on site.Careful planning and site management were essential to keep the project moving forward without compromising quality or safety.
Our Approach
We took a fully coordinated approach to deliver both the structural extension and full internal renovation seamlessly.All works were carefully phased, starting with structural groundworks and progressing through to first fix plumbing and electrics, followed by plastering, second fix installations and final finishes.Close attention was given to detail throughout, particularly with high-end elements such as the matt black Crittall-style doors and modern kitchen and bathroom installations.Regular communication with the client ensured they were kept informed at every stage of the project.
